If you missed my previous post on making homemade flax milk, be sure to check it out for a step-by-step guide!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup homemade flax milk (refer to my previous post for the recipe)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or kefir milk for a probiotic boost)
  • 1 banana (preferably frozen for a creamier texture)
  • 1/2 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
  • 1 tablespoon of your favorite nut butter or plant based protein
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A few ice cubes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Make your homemade flax milk if you haven’t already (check my previous post for the recipe). Peel and slice the banana, and gather the rest of your ingredients.
  2. Blend: In a blender, combine the flax milk, Greek yogurt (or kefir milk), banana, spinach leaves, mixed berries, chia seeds, flaxseeds, almond butter, honey (if using), and ground cinnamon. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a thicker consistency, add a few ice cubes and blend again.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Taste your smoothie and adjust the sweetness or spice level if needed. You can add a bit more honey or a dash of cinnamon according to your preference.
  4. Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately for the freshest taste and maximum nutritional benefit.
